Available Giclee'

Giclee' (gee-clay) is the French word “to spray.” It refers to the modern inkjet printing process which scans an image digitally and then uses high resolution printers with archival inks and paper to create beautiful reproductions which are “almost” like the original painting in color, clarity and the appearance of texture.

The virtue of the Giclee' print process is that reproductions can be created “on demand”, as a customer needs one or many. Giclee' prints can be made in many sizes, from the dimensions of the original painting, to sizes larger or smaller than the original. Giclee' prints can be made on a variety of papers and even canvas, introducing many new possibilities for the artist, collectors, galleries and designers.

I am excited to offer these Giclee' prints. Many of these images, as original pastel paintings, are no longer available for purchase—but now can be enjoyed by many others, at affordable prices.

My Giclee' reproductions are available on two surfaces---canvas and paper. Both surfaces are highly rated for light fastness and longevity, over 100 years in simulated laboratory testing. All inks used in this process are archival and will not fade, if the reproduction is properly framed and displayed in the correct lighting conditions.

An image on Canvas:  The canvas material is 65% polyester/ 35% cotton with a fine weave that puts additional texture in the image. Once the image is printed on the canvas, it is sprayed with a protective coating that makes the surface impervious to spills and most environmental conditions. The canvas giclee print is shipped, either in tubes or flat, and is then ready to be stretched on traditional canvas stretcher bars by your framer before it is framed.

An image on Paper:  The paper material is a heavyweight, acid-free, bright white matte paper that enhances the image and gives a clear, beautiful reproduction of the pastel medium used in the original painting.  A paper reproduction must be framed under glass or Plexiglas to protect the print and to display it properly.

An image on Archival Paper:  For those concerned with maximum longevity you may choose Somerset Velvet, a 100% cotton rag, acid free paper that has  been the paper choice for serious artists and printmakers since the 1700’s. Please add an additional $20.00 to the paper prices for Somerset paper.

Reproduction Sizes:  The images and prices below are for sizes close to the original pastel painting. Other sizes, larger and smaller, are possible. Please contact me for complete giclee' information, including purchase and shipping details.

A Signed Reproduction:  If you desire a hand signed print, please add $25.00 to the prices listed.
